Promoting tolerance and historical perspective through the presentation and interpretation of the variety of immigrant and migrant experiences on Manhattan's Lower East Side, a gateway to America.  A New York City Museum that tells the stories of immigrants who lived at 97 Orchard Street, a tenement built in 1863 on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The guided tour of the United Nations will take you to the chambers of the Security Council, the Trusteeship Council and the Economic and Social Council (Some chambers may be closed to the public). You will also see exhibits on peacekeeping operations, decolonization and disarmament. An art collection consisting  of tapestries, murals, mosaics and sculptures is also included. The final stop on the tour route is the General Assembly Hall, the largest and best-known room.
