Yes, it’s a tourist trap but worth it just to see the size of the pastrami sandwiches and the New York cheesecake.  No kids’ menu but they’re happy to make up anything for you to share.

Typical diner food but the singing waiters and waitresses (talented aspiring actors/actresses and singers), and electric train zooming around the edge of the ceiling in this retro 1950s setting make it very entertaining.
