THE BALLET CLASS

The Ballet Class has taught ballet to children ages 5 - 18 in Rye for over thirty years. Founded by Lynne Stetson who danced in New York City Ballet under George Balanchine: it is located in the Rye Arts Center where they have a very large, bright studio. The faculty is comprised of an extraordinarily accomplished group of teachers who are presently or have previously been professional ballet dancers in some of the most prestigious ballet companies in the country including New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. Students who attend The Ballet Class are given an opportunity to perform on stage in a recital where they can demonstrate their accomplishments. Some students are invited to participate in lecture demonstrations at local schools.  Many of their students have moved on to study at School of American Ballet in New York and have become professional ballet dancers in companies throughout the United States.

RYE RACQUET CLUB

Good resource for people new to the area.  Classes include cardio tennis.  Facility includes five indoor plexi-cushion tennis courts and four outdoor har-tru courts, so clients are able to gain experience on both of these USTA surfaces. The surface has been called the softest hard court available.  A bubbleh is placed over the Har-tru courts in the winter months, so Rye Racquet is truly a year-round club. Clients also enjoy the other amenities the club offers such as a lounge area with food and beverages available, full locker rooms, and childcare services.

SPORTS LEAGUE FOR MOMS 

Calling all sport moms who enjoy volleyball, basketball and/or soccer!  If you are interested in playing fun sports, meeting other moms and getting in shape this is for you! 

Ladies' Basketball - Wednesday mornings 9:30-11am (free and starts 5 January 2012) 

Ladies' Volleyball - Thursday mornings 9:30-11am (free and starts 15 September 2011) 

Ladies' Turf Field Soccer - Friday mornings 9:30-11am starting 9 September 2011 (free field and $7 trainer donation) 

All experience levels welcome and feel free to bring a friend!  A great workout and a great way to meet other moms. 

Locations: Basketball and Volleyball are held at Sollazzo Center, adjacent to the Harrison train station (270 Harrison Avenue). Soccer is held at Silver Lake turf field in West Harrison.
